Back in 2017, BDB ran 2 Repair Cafe’s a month for 2 years, at THINQTANQ. We had a great time, and fixed hundreds of items. Due to capacity we no longer run them ourselves, but in 2019 we worked with other organisations across Plymouth to create the Repair Make & Mend Community (RMMC). From this collaboration, our partners at Scrapstore began running regular repair events again! You can find out when they are on the Plymouth Repairing Community Facebook Group. Do you have things which need some TLC, or are a bit broken and you don’t have the time or skills to fix them yourself? Don’t throw them away, find your closest repairing event, and have a go at fixing them. You don’t need to be a handyman to fix most things and with a combination of caffeine, internet videos, encouragement, and some skill sharing you could well revive your items. Even if it can’t be fixed, you will still have a great time, meet new people and learn new skills!
